Fanitullvegen from Hemsedal to Ål - cycling route
Great route to get familiar with the mountains separating Hemsedal and Ål. Nice gravel road the entire way, bring your family or someone you love and enjoy the nature.
Images
Enjoyable cycling on gravel roads in the high mountains. Cycling on fine gravel roads under Reineskarvet, through summer farm valleys and around small lakes. The summer-open chairlift can be used for the first climb. It is a fairly nice and gentle route that children can join if they can cycle as far as 60 km. It takes you up to high mountain nature where you can enjoy the landscape and nature without worrying about steering around stones and roots on a trail. After the first climb, you cycle past Røggjin then on to Flævassvatnet. This part of the route is easy and gentle until you roll down to Ål. The route is part of Stølsruta (Golsfjellet-Hemsedal-Ål-Hol-Geilo) and can advantageously be combined with Bergsjø’s route network. It is also possible to cycle back to Hemsedal via Trettestølene over the mountain down to the Hemsila trail, but there will be a lot of mud crossing peat bogs and some downhill cycling on rough trail terrain.
