Grøndalsløypa
A light and pleasant route into Grøndalen on gravel road. Combine with mountain hikes in the area, golf further into Grøndalen, or just sitting in the sun along the road.
Images
Bike ride starting at Tuv, taking you into Grøndalen. There are nice paths and gravel roads along the entire route, so this is great for bringing children along. In addition to the comfortable roads, there is not much climbing, with most of the ascent happening in the first 3 km.
The first kilometer of the route is on a nature trail along the river Grøndøla. When the trail ends at Kroken, follow the road until a new trail appears. This trail takes you over a couple of small bridges along the river and a field until you reach a junction onto a gravel road. Turn left here and follow the gravel road past Hallenuten and Fagersetvatnet all the way to Bjørnebergstølen.
Alternatively, you can stop and take a dip in Fagersetvatnet or take a detour either up to Hallenuten.
At the start of the gravel road, you can also turn right instead, cycle to the main road and follow the road left into Grøndalen until you reach Hemsedal Golf where you can play tennis or golf in beautiful nature.

Turn-by-turn directions
Follow the path along the river Grøndøla behind the large red brick house at Tuv, and follow alongside the field/river. The path ends at Kroken. Here there are three options: Grøndalsveien: Follow the road right and left onto the paved Grøndalsvei, drive 100 m up the hill, turn left at Fagersetveien. Alternatively, continue on paved road. Brekkefossen: Follow along the river, over two small bridges, along a field to the mill at Brekkefossen, then left onto Fagersetveien, alternatively right back to Grøndalsveien. Karisetrunden: Turn left, follow the path/tractor road towards Karisetberget, turn right onto the single trail, turn right down to Fagersetveien, turn left onto Fagersetveien (can preferably be cycled in the opposite direction). At the end of Fagersetveien (gravel road) there is a path/hiking trail (rocky and demanding terrain) further towards Slette in Grøndalen, where you cycle Grøndalsveien further into Grøndalen.
