One of the best routes in Hemsedal for those who do not want to walk too far or steep but still enjoy a great view.
On the way up, you drive past Harahorn Hotel and restaurant, a culinary experience with flavors from the mountain. They have varying opening hours - check their website for more information.
Hydalen is a beautiful valley with opportunities for fishing, camping, hiking trails, and canoe trips.

Turn-by-turn directions
To get to the parking for Hydalshjallen, drive towards Harahorn Hotel and continue past Vavatn, there is clear parking on both sides of the road before the junction to Vabuleino. From the parking, follow the unmarked trail eastwards, it should be easy to see among the bushes. You follow the ridge of the mountain all the way to Hydalshjallen without steep sections. Parts of the trail have wet patches, and there may be snow on the top of the mountain well into the summer.

Directions
Drive west from the Tourist Office. Turn towards Grøndalen at Tuv. Follow signs to Hydalen. There is clear parking along the road at the top of the mountain. Toll road - pay at https://passpay.no/
