Hemsedals easiest hike, you follow a dirt road all the way up to the top. Perfect hike to bring the kids and a good stroller. Nice view over the ski resort and town centre.
In winter, you can walk this with snowshoes or, if many people have walked here, you can walk with winter shoes.

Our easiest trip for the whole family, you can even bring a (good) stroller with you as there is a dirt road all the way to the top. On the way up to the top, you walk through a beautiful landscape with free grazing cattle so please be careful to close all gates behind you and keep your dog on a leash. There are many beautiful flowers and also wild berries to pick on the way.

From the top, 804 masl, you have a nice view over the valley, both east- and westwards and over the ski resort, Fyri resort and the whole area from Hemsedal town centre to Skarsnuten.

At the top, there are link stations for TV, radio, telephone and broadband.

Tip! There are several options for a detour or a roundtrip when hiking Høllekølten, so please check the map for more interesting alternatives.

Please note! There are grazing animals in the area, so remember to close gates and keep your dog on a leash.

Author's advice

Just before the the dirt road ends, there is a small path leading out to a lean-to where you can have a seat and admire the view.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the parking, follow the dirt road upwards. After almost 1 km, at the end of a longer flat part and before the road descends again, turn right through the gate. Follow the dirt road to the end and then the path the last meters to the lookout point. Return the same way.

Please note! There are grazing animals in the area, so remember to close gates and keep your dog on a leash.
