Fekjastølatn circular route from Hemsedal center - Hiking trail
This is a great route where you both walk over mountains, past beautiful waterfalls, and along the river. The route can be done as both a circular route and an A to B route, by parking a car at Fekjastølatn.

This is a route with many alternative paths. The trail follows streams both up and down, which gives many opportunities for swimming and photography.
This route is shown as a circular route, but it is also possible to end the route at Fekjan and arrange transport to/from there.
Author's advice
Take a detour from the trail and go out on the top of Imrestind, where you have a great view over Hemsedal.
Turn-by-turn directions
The route we have marked is the circular route that starts in Hemsedal center. You climb up the mountain on an old tractor road along the river Trøymsåne. At the top it flattens out and you traverse through a wide valley, with Skurvefjell on the north side. There is a lake at the top, and a somewhat indistinct trail for a short distance along the water, but if you walk along the water on the north side, you come back onto a clear trail again on the other side. The trail follows a stream downhill and you walk past Fekjaånefossen before you reach Fekjatølatn. From there you take a trail south past Gjeteberget and down through Hemsedal Bygdetun. At the road, turn right and walk down to the highway. Turn right on the highway towards Hemsedal center, and after about one kilometer, cross the road carefully and follow the gravel road down to the river. Follow Hemsilstigen up the river on the right side. At the trail’s end, go out onto the highway again and follow it the last stretch back to the start.
Directions
CIRCULAR ROUTE: Park in the center. Follow the road to the right of the Tourist Office for about 1.5 km, past a farm. The trail turns off to the right up an old tractor road.
TO FEKJASTØLATN (A-B route): Take Rv 52 eastwards to Ulsåk, about 4 km from the center. Turn left towards Lykkja. Follow Lykkjavegen about 10 km and then turn left at the sign towards Ulsåkstølen. Pass Ulsåkstølen, pay with Vipps at the toll gate, and follow the road about 5 km until it ends at Fekjastølatn where you park.
