Storehødn/Storehorn 1482 masl - Topp20 Hemsedal
Images
Great hike in beautiful landscape. Here you get a nice view of Hemsedal and the mountains. You get an steep start uphill until you reach the height of Hydnetjernet, then it's a relaxing walk to the foot of Storehødn. Up Storehødn there is a rather steep climb to the top at 1,482 m above sea level.
Remember that we in Hemsedal have a leash requirement for dogs in the period 1 April to 31 October, also in the high mountains.
Author's advice
This hike can be combined with a hike around the Hydnetjernet lake and across the outlet of the waterfall Hydnefossen or to the Top 20 peak Veslehødn.
Turn-by-turn directions
The hike from the parking starts up a steep but not too long incline. When you come up, it flattens out towards the lake Hødnetjedne. Keep to the left of the lake. At the first crossroad, choose between going left, which is a longer option but less demanding, or going right, which is a shorter and steeper option. Can also be done as a round trip.
Remember that we in Hemsedal have a leash requirement for dogs in the period 1 April to 31 October, also in the high mountains.
Safety information
- A topographic hiking map and compass are recommended.
- Always choose hikes based on your ability and current conditions. The weather changes quickly in the mountains.
